Before and After Care:
Although the CBE does not operate before and after school (out of school) programs we do have this service provided by a third-party operator, in our school. To register for the current school year, or learn more visit Adventurers.
Meeting Student Needs:
Class placements are made using a thorough and lengthy process including thoughtful consideration of each students' needs by last year's learning team. During the first month of school we will be developing classroom, grade team and school learning routines and culture and allowing each child to settle into their new space for the school year. We have an ongoing responsive process to meet student needs that includes regular meetings designed to review how your child is doing academically and socially throughout the year. If families have any questions, please contact your child's teacher.
As mentioned, further communication will be coming come from teachers to introduce themselves and provide specific classroom details. Some other ways to stay connected to the school are through specific volunteering opportunities later in the year and by participating in the Queen Elizabeth Elementary Parent Enhancement Society. Please email the office for information about volunteer security clearance for in-school volunteering. We will send out further information regarding our first parent council meeting in the coming days.
QES school community has spent the last few years working together to maintain a learning community of which we can all be proud. We look forward to welcoming many new students and a few new staff members. All students and staff are invited to wear their spirit wear or school colours on T-shirts on Friday Sept. 1 2023 to celebrate being back in school. Stay tuned for information from our parent society about spirit wear and upcoming important fundraisers in the coming weeks.
Thank you and we look forward to a successful 2023-24 school opening and another exciting year of learning.
Sincerely,
Lisa McConnell
