Important Dates

We follow the CBE instructional ​calendar. The calendar sets common start and end days, non-instructional days and holidays. For our school’s additional non-instructional days, late entries, early dismissal days and events, see our school calendar page.​​

Back to School Information

First Day of Classes 

Thursday, August 31, 2023

  • Grades 1 - 6:  All students 
  • Kindergarten:  AM1 & PM Kindergarten students attend (no school for AM2 Kindergarten students)

Friday, September 1, 2023

  • Grades 1 - 6:  All students
  • Kindergarten:  AM2 students attend (no school for AM1 or PM Kindergarten students)

Kindergarten: Our alternating Friday schedule will begin with the morning Kindergarten classes on September 8, 2023.  

The school office will open on Monday, August 28, 2023 at 8:15am. 

School Start & End Times 

Soft Entry

Instructional time begins at 8:30am for students in Grades 1 - 6. 

We encourage students to arrive between 8:20-8:25 and head directly to their designated entry.  Staff will direct students to their classrooms immediately upon arrival. 

Dismissal

Dismissal time is 3:20pm.   

When picking up children at the end of the day please confer with your child to decide on a pre-arranged spot outside to meet them for pick up close to their exit doors. Please do not choose the school playground.

Lunch on Monday-Thursday is from 12:00pm-12:50pm.


Morning Kindergarten

  • Instructional time begins at 8:30am for our morning Kindergarten students. The Kindergarten doors will open at 8:25am.
  • Dismissal time is 11:25am.

Afternoon Kindergarten

  • Instructional time begins at 12:25pm for our afternoon Kindergarten students. The Kindergarten doors will open at 12:20pm.
  • Dismissal time is 3:20pm

Note | Dismissal time for all students is 12:20pm on Fridays

School Supplies 

Please put your child's name on the following important items they will need at school

  • A backpack
  • Indoor Shoes - runners
  • Lunch kit / water bottle

All necessary school supplies will be made available to your child within each classroom.  If there is a need for additional materials or supplies for special projects and the like your classroom teacher may seek support throughout the school year.

​​​​​​Do You Have a MyCBE Account? Have You Added Your Child(ren) To the Account?

Parents / Legal Guardians / Independent Students who have not already done so, must create a MyCBE account and add their child(ren) to the account to:

  • access your child’s program information (e.g., course assessments, daily attendance record, report card)
  • view your child’s learning using Brightspace by D2L
  • pay fees and request waivers
  • register for transportation and lunch ​supervision
  • book parent-teacher conferences
  • submit online school forms (required for 2023-24 school year)

You will need your email address on file at the school as well as your child’s CBE ID, which can be found on the:

  • SchoolEngage student profile, for families that registered their child using SchoolEngage.

  • CBE Report Card, beside the child's name
  • CBE ID card

Subscribe to School Messages

Most school messages are sent to parents through SchoolMessenger. It’s a mass communication tool that allows schools to easily and securely send email, phone and text messages to parents / guardians, independent students in a particular grade, class, school or area. Messages are sent to the parent contacts on file at your school.​​

To ensure you receive important information from your child’s school and the Calgary Board of Education, subscribe to school messages.​

​​Fees and Waivers

School fees will be charged to families starting in October. Online fee payment is the simplest and most convenient way to pay school fees. Parents can use their online account to pay fees or apply for a waiver at: www.cbe.ab.ca/mycbe.
