First Day of Classes

Kindergarten: The transition to Kindergarten is an exciting first step in your child’s educational journey.  In order to make the transition as smooth as possible, we will be having a staggered entry approach.  This will allow students to meet the teachers and spend time in the classroom in smaller groups for orientation.  Kindergarten students will come for a portion of either September 1 or September 2 as noted below.  Our alternating Friday schedule will begin with the afternoon Kindergarten class on September 3.

Wednesday, September 1

  • Grades 1- 6 All students
  • Kindergarten students in AM Groups A & B, PM Group E

Thursday, September 2

  • Kindergarten students in AM Groups C & D, PM Group F

Friday, September 3

  • All students and regularly scheduled Kindergarten (PM Kinders for this week)

School Start & End Times

Soft Entry

Instructional time begins at 8:30am.  We encourage students to arrive between 8:20-8:25 and head directly to their designated entry.  Staff will direct students to their classrooms immediately upon arrival.

Guided Dismissal

Dismissal time is 3:20pm.  Classroom cohorts will be escorted to the back field in a staggered manner, with teacher support.  Please plan for additional time at the end of the day to allow for physical distancing during dismissal.

When picking up children at the end of the day please confer with your child to decide on a pre-arranged spot outside to meet them for pick up close to their exit doors. Please do not choose the school playground.

Note | Dismissal time for all students is 12:20pm on Fridays

School Supply Lists

Please put your child's name on the following important items they will need at school

  • A backpack
  • Indoor Shoes - runners
  • Lunch kit / water bottle

All necessary school supplies will be made available to your child within each classroom.  If there is a need for additional materials or supplies for special projects and the like your classroom teacher may seek support throughout the school year.  Restrictions of items due to public health measures will be communicated in September.
