Winter Clothing
Keep your child warm by choosing lightweight, windproof, moisture proof, and layered clothing. Keep in mind that your child must be able to move freely, and be able to see clearly to avoid any accidents. Drawstrings in the hoods on necks of coats, mittens, trailing scarves and loose clothing can easily catch on playground equipment, fences, gates, and escalators, causing strangulation or serious injury.
Winter Safety at Play
Warn your children about placing their tongue or bare hands on cold surfaces. Choose an area free of debris, fences, roots, and steep hills to go tobogganing. Make sure the ice is solid before skating on it.
