School Property

We take great pride in keeping a tidy school; both inside and out. We ask all our students to be good citizens by putting garbage and recycling where it belongs, and helping to keep our classrooms and playground clean.

Also, a reminder that smoking is not permitted on CBE property. Parents and family members may not smoke anywhere outside of the school. This includes sidewalks. Your cooperation is both appreciated and expected.

Playground Rules & Expectations

As a school, we consistently review our playground rules and expectations with our students as needed throughout the school year. Please take a moment to review these with your child(ren):

  • If it looks unsafe, we will ask you to stop
  • Rocks and snow stay on the ground
  • Stay inside school boundaries at all times
  • All students can play at all playgrounds

Use of School Equipment, Open Spaces & Play Areas

Students are expected to use school and recreational equipment appropriately. Students are expected to play safe games that will not potentially endanger themselves or others. Students are expected to respect the rights of participants in organized games and not to disrupt the activity.

No Dogs on School Property

Please help us to keep our playgrounds clean and sanitary and our children safe by securing your dog outside of the school grounds when picking up your children. The Calgary Board of Education does not permit dogs to be on school grounds and it is prohibited by a city bylaw. Section 15 of the City of Calgary Responsible Pet Ownership Bylaw 23M2006 says that the owner of a dog must ensure that a dog does not enter into or remain in or on a school ground. The bylaw defines school ground to include that area of up to 4 hectares of land adjacent to a school that is owned or occupied by the Calgary Board of Education or the Calgary Catholic Board and includes property owned or occupied with another party or the City of Calgary.  More information about this CBE policy is available on the CBE website AR 6004 | Animals in Schools  section 18.

Smoke Free Environment

All facilities and property owned and operated by the CBE are smoke-free environments. This includes parking lots,

playgrounds, fields and CBE-owned or leased vehicles. More information about this CBE policy is available on the CBE website https://insite.cbe.ab.ca/about...

Sledding or public use of school grounds during school hours

Lastly, please be aware that teachers and students will continue to utilize the compound area for Physical Education and families using this area during school hours will be asked to relocate if this is the case. Sledding is an awesome & fun winter activity but isn't permitted during school hours. Thanks for your support with this!
