One way parents/guardians can make a meaningful difference for students is by participating on our school’s parent society. Parent societies are a formal group of parents, incorporated under the Societies Act for the purpose of raising funds for the school. A society is a separate legal entity from the school council. The school principal is not part of this group. More information can be found in our CBE Administrative Regulation 5001 – School Councils and School/Parent Societies.

May 2022

We’re in the last stretch of the 2021-22 school year and our work continues!

The last Parent Association Board meeting before the summer is on Wednesday, June 1st from 6:30 - 7:30 pm. If you’re interested in joining or learning more about the Parent Association, email for meeting details.

We are also gearing up for the return of the Ramsay School Stampede Parking fundraiser! In the past, this 10-day volunteer-run event has raised $20 000 to support the students at Ramsay School.

We need YOU to help make this year’s event a success by signing up for volunteer shifts at Please sign-up for the evening and late evening shifts as they are usually the busiest times. To adequately staff the fundraiser, each family is encouraged to sign up for 3 volunteer shifts for each of their children at the school.

Are you away during Stampede? There are other ways to contribute to the fundraiser through our Rodeo RV parking, day parking set up, or by joining the planning committee. Our next two planning meetings are on Wednesdays, June 8 & 22 from 6:30-7:30pm. All are welcome to attend. Please email to receive meeting details.

Your volunteer hours are what afford Ramsay students residencies, materials and  technology for the classroom, in addition to Student and School Council events. Volunteer shifts are open to Ramsay School parents, Ramsay School Alumni, Division 2 students (under the direct supervision of their parent(s)/guardian(s)), community members, and anyone interested in supporting Ramsay School students. Sign up for the shifts you want now:

January 2022

There has been a full turnover in board members this year and we’ve taken some time to familiarize ourselves with the purpose, history and current state of affairs.

Parent Association is the non-profit, volunteer-run fundraising group for the students of Ramsay School. Funds from the Parent Association help support the school in various ways, including residencies, field trips, events organized by the School Council, some classroom supplies and laptops. We rely on 2 regular fundraisers in order to keep supporting the school’s students - the Stampede Parking lot up the hill from the school and, every 18-24 months, casino nights.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we have not been able to fundraise for the past 2 years. Our reserve of funds are sufficient to honour the commitment to the school for the 2021-22 school year and for the 2022-2023 school year.

The early stages of planning for the Stampede Parking fundraiser for this summer has started and we are expecting casino dates for the fall. These fundraisers are only successful because of the many parent and community volunteers that sign-up to help! When we are ready to start organizing volunteers for these 2 events, please consider signing up for at least one shift so that we can continue to support student learning at the school.

We are also exploring the feasibility of other fundraising events in case our regular fundraisers don’t work out this year.
