A Shift in Thinking: Library to Learning Commons
A new culture of learning is changing the way we create, access and share information and resources. Learning has become globalized, collaborative, and at the same time, more personalized to learners. CBE school learning commons are physical and virtual learning hubs that focus on personalization, co-creation and sharing. Supporting a diversity of learning styles and needs, these resource-rich environments help make learning visible in our schools by uniting physical and digital resources, technology and curriculum.
Ramsay’s Learning Commons
At Ramsay, the students engage in our Learning Commons for the purpose of read-alouds, book exchange and to engage in Maker Centers. Students get to explore, create, and play within these centers. Some of these Maker Centers focus on STEM learning challenges, some around art and there are loose parts to explore and engage with.
