Attendance

Attendance Line: 403-777-6510  ext.1

In the event of student absence, the parent/guardian is asked to call the school and leave a message. Please leave the following information:

  • name of student(s)
  • grade(s)
  • teacher(s)
  • reason for absence or lateness
  • length of absence if known

Attendance will be taken each morning and afternoon, and in cases where the parent/guardian has not informed the school, every effort will be made to contact the parent/guardian to verify the absence.

Students are expected to attend school every day and to be at school on time for classes. If a student is absent, it is the responsibility of the parent/guardian to telephone the school stating the reason for the absence. Students will not be dismissed early without parental notification to the school. Please respect school dismissal times. When a parent comes into the school and requests that their child be dismissed a few minutes early, that request causes a disruption in learning to the whole class, not just to the individual student. For that reason, we are unable to grant such requests unless there is a family emergency at hand.

Student Sign-out

Learn about our student sign-out procedures on our Security page.

Lates & Absences

Students who habitually arrive at school late for class may be expected to make up the lost instruction time after school. In such cases, parents/guardians will be notified.

Please report any changes to a child’s pick-up arrangements to the office by 2:00 PM so that bus attendance can be updated accordingly.

Attendance Expectations at the CBE

We believe there is a strong correlation between attendance and effective education. The CBE Administrative Regulation 6020 - Attendance of Students regulation applies to all of our students, and outlines the responsibilities for students, parents and school staff.
