There are many ways you can contribute to our school’s success, and make a difference for our school and our students. In our school, this can include providing in-kind donations, contributing cash and lending expertise and technical knowledge. Connect with our principal on what may be appropriate. Casino

A casino is held every eighteen months with all the proceeds going towards supporting student learning at Riverbend. We would like to extend a big thank you to all of the volunteers and their families, who made our casino event a success. Our casino is a major fundraiser for the school.  Funds raised will be used towards program-related equipment, resource materials, field trip transportation, and development programs. 

Did you know that the casino is the single biggest fundraiser for Riverbend School?  Our 2018 Casino is running October 14/15 and we need volunteers to help make it possible.  Please take the time to fill out the Volunteer Registration Form if you are available and willing to help on these dates.

Cookie Dough Sale

This fundraiser usually takes place in November and is our second biggest fundraiser with 40% of of all sales going directly to support Riverbend School student learning experiences.

ADmazing Coupon Books

Books sell for $25 with $10.50 coming back to our school.  These will be available in September.

SPUD Produce Boxes

Riverbend School has partnered with the online grocery store SPUD.ca! SPUD will donate 25% back from every fundraising produce box purchased from this link. At checkout, just enter the promo code FUNDRAISING and select Riverbend School from the drop-down list. Your order will be delivered to your home or office, and our school will receive a donation from SPUD.ca. Thank you for your support! This applies to home orders or office orders. You purchase a variety of other natural and organic groceries from SPUD.ca with free delivery!  If you pay with gift cards from SPUD.ca/spudcards, a 10% donation will be made from the purchase of any item on our website.  SPUD has high sourcing standards with an emphasis on local and organic and offere a 100% guarantee on all purchases.

Marklan Bottle Depot

Please consider donating your bottle recycling proceeds to the 'Riverbend School' account set up with Marklan Bottle Depot by the Glenmore Inn.  Just let them know at the counter when you are checking out.  If you have any questions please contact REPS for more information.  We will also be coordinating a bottle drop-off on Parent Teacher conference dates in December and March.  Thanks for your support!

Ways to give to our school include:

Monetary (cash) donation

  • I wish to receive a tax receipt for my donation. Tax receipts will be issued for donations of $20 or more.
    • Visit the EducationMatters online donation webpage to make a donation. (Preferred donation method)
    • Write a cheque payable to EducationMatters  (all one word) and include the name of our school and the specific program, activity or item you want your donation to support in the 'memo' section. Give the cheque to the school or mail it to: EducationMatters, 1221 8 Street SW Calgary, AB T2R 0L4
  • I do not wish to receive a tax receipt for my donation
    • ​Write a cheque made payable to Calgary Board of Education  and include the name of our school and the specific program, activity or item you want your donation to support in the 'memo' section. Give the cheque to the school.
