Riverside School is located in the northeast community of Bridgeland/Riverside. We are a unique K-Grade 9 school that is primarily made up of students who come from throughout the city to attend the Alternative Science Program. We also house a system inclusive education class (ACCESS). These are all programs of choice within the Calgary Board of Education.
The Science Program is the largest of 6 Alternative Science Programs in the CBE with space for 650 students in Kindergarten through Grade 9. This program is designed to meet the needs of students who have a keen interest in science and inquiry based learning. Our Diverse Learning Class (ACCESS III) has students with specialized learning needs. Students from all programs continue at their designated high schools for Grades 10-12.
Registration for Riverside School is determined by a lottery process held in January each year.
