Back to School Information

First Day of School

We are excited for the 2022-2023 school year to commence! Our school office will officially reopen on Monday August 29th from 8:00-3:30pm daily, families can connect with the school via phone 403-817-3400 or email robertthirskhigh@cbe.ab.ca

 

The first day of classes is Thursday September 1st, 2022 and we will be doing a staggered entry. Below is the staggered entry schedule:

 

  • Grade 10 – 8:15-8:30am
  • Grade 11 – 8:55-9:10am
  • Grade 12 – 8:55-9:10am
  • Learning Programs – 8:15-8:30am (PLP, ALP, TASC, CSSI)
  • Note: September 1st is a FULL school day ending at 3:00pm for all students.

 

Students will meet their designated Homeroom (Grade 10) or Connect (Grades 11 & 12) teachers outside on the RTHS loop. Teachers will be outside with signs to greet students and bring their groups into the school at the designated time.

 

Timetables for all students with current access to PowerSchool will open Tuesday, August 30th at 8:00am. The Success Centre has been busy registering new students and balancing timetables for the past few days. Once you review your current timetable, if you wish to request a course change, please use the link below to the live form to submit your request. The form will be live starting on August 30th at 8:00am. The deadline for course change submissions is Friday September 2nd, 2022 at midnight.

​​​Do You Have a MyCBE Account? Have You Added Your Child(ren) To the Account?

Parents / Legal Guardians / Independent Students who have not already done so, must create a MyCBE account and add their child(ren) to the account to:

  • access your child’s program information (e.g., course assessments, daily attendance record, report card)
  • view your child’s learning using Brightspace by D2L
  • pay fees and request waivers
  • register for transportation and lunch ​supervision
  • book parent-teacher conferences
  • submit online school forms (required for 2022-23 school year)

You will need your email address on file at the school as well as your child’s CBE ID, which can be found on the:

  • SchoolEngage student profile, for families that registered their child using SchoolEngage.

  • CBE Report Card, beside the child's name

​​Fees and Waivers

School fees will be charged to families starting in October. Online fee payment is the simplest and most convenient way to pay school fees. Parents can use their online account to pay fees or apply for a waiver at: www.cbe.ab.ca/mycbe.
