Attendance Line: 403-777-7690 ext. 1.

If it is necessary for a student to be absent from school for any part of the school day, parents/guardians are asked to notify the school that morning by calling the number above and leaving a message. Please provide the students name, the spelling of the name, duration and reason for the absence.

In accordance with the School Act, absences may be excused by the school for reasons of illness or unavoidable cause. Notification of any extended absence from school should be provided to the main office prior to the absence and the student should inform each teacher in advance.

Early Dismissal

Occasionally students must leave the building before the usual dismissal time. Students are to inform their teachers and then check out at the office. A note or phone call from parents is required. A message can be left on the attendance line. Students will not be allowed to leave the school during the day without permission from the office.

Students are expected to be seated in their desks before the late bell. Students arriving late miss important instruction and disrupt other students when they enter the classroom. If lates become a concern, staff will take measures to support the student to improve punctuality.

Attendance Expectations at the CBE

We believe there is a strong correlation between attendance and effective education. The CBE Administrative Regulation 6020 - Attendance of Students regulation applies to all of our students, and outlines the responsibilities for students, parents and school staff.

ONE WEEK LEFT – Families must register by June 11 If you’re considering using transportation, registration must be submitted by the deadline to be included in next year’s bus routes planning. This will ensure your child can access the bus without delay in September. #WeAreCBE
