Music Parents Association

Parents, we’d love to have more help! If you have a student in the Robert Warren Music Program (Band or Choir) we need your help! The MPARW meets monthly to plan and execute fundraising endeavors and the two Robert Warren Band concerts performed each year at the school.  How much you are involved is up to you -  many hands make things happen much easier. It’s a great way to stay informed about what’s going on in the music program and have some fun along the way.

Fundraiser

Bottle Drive Fundraiser

Saturday Sept. 21, 9:00 AM-12:30 PM. Meet at the Robert Warren parking lot. It is helpful if students are dressed for the weather and wearing a visible piece of Robert Warren clothing (hoodie, PE shirt, band shirt). A portion of the funds raised go directly to your child’s personal band account and can be used to pay for upcoming off-campus trips. The remaining money goes into the general band account and is used to subsidize the cost of band activities throughout the year. Permission slips for this event have been sent home with all music students.

Watch for upcoming news on band fundraisers and our annual Christmas concert.

DFS Canada Christmas Fundraiser October 10 – October 25

Do your Christmas shopping early and support the Robert Warren music program by ordering gifts and treats from the DFS Canada catalogue. Catalogues will go home with students on Oct. 10. Orders can be made online and even sent directly to friends or family members who want to support the RW band but live out of town (with a minimal shipping cost). All orders will need to be in by Oct. 25, and items will arrive in late November in good time for Christmas. Details on how to order will be available by Oct. 10. To take a sneak peak you can visit http://dfscanada.com/Flip-2/PDF-Flip/index.html

Silent Auction Fundraiser December 12, 2019

It is a Robert Warren music program tradition to have a silent auction at our annual Christmas concert. Last year we raised $900 for our students and this year it would be so great to surpass the $1000 mark. In past years, people took home hotel vouchers, gift baskets, local business merchandise, event tickets and quality hand made items. If you have any connections with businesses or individuals who might like to contribute items for our silent auction, please reach out to them. It is a great cause and a great advertising opportunity. The Silent Auction always adds an element of fun to our Christmas concert, and I’m sure this year will be no exception. Contact robertwarrenmparw@gmail.com with any questions or for details on where to drop off donations.

Mom’s Pantry Fundraiser February 2019

Fill your freezer and pantry with delicious, quality food items from Mom’s Pantry. Mrs. Gilliland swears by the ready-to-bake croissants! Check out www.momspantry.ca to get a taste for what’s to come!!

How does the MPARW use funds raised?

Fifty percent of funds raised by each student go directly into his or her band account. Students can use this money to pay for band camps, festivals and tours. This money is transferable within families. The remaining fifty percent goes into the general MPARW account and pays for instruments, music, teacher supply when Mrs. Gilliland is off-site with band students, transportation, uniforms, concert supplies, etc.
