So great to see you at the Reverse Parade today!
Have a GREAT SUMMER and see you in September!
Mrs. Morris

January 12, 2020
Hello Students and Families,
I wanted to share why I am not at school with you, so that everyone has the correct information. On December 29, I had an accident in my home which led to me breaking both bones in my lower right leg. I was hospitalized and needed to have a rod surgically implanted in my leg. I am not able to put weight on this leg, nor am I allowed to drive. For now, I get around my house using a walker (hopping), a wheelchair, and to go up and down stairs, my bum! I have lots of friends and family that are taking great care of me and I feel very grateful for this.
The extent of my injury requires a lot of time to heal and I will know a lot more about the time needed, when I see my Doctor this week. I doubt I will see anyone before Teacher's Convention...
I am only 2 weeks post-op and I am pretty bored! Needless to say, I am missing all of you and the action of daily life at Robert Warren!
Take care, learn lots and keep warm,
Mrs. Morris

We have a Practicum Student starting with us tomorrow morning:
Hello to all of Mrs. Morris’ students and their parents. My name is Ms. Karen Bates and I am an Education Assistant Certificate Student at Lethbridge College. Mrs. Morris and the administration at Robert Warren have been kind enough to allow me to join Mrs. Morris for my practicum. I look forward to being in the classroom part-time, starting Monday, October 1st for 10 weeks, to learn from Mrs. Morris and work with the students to make this year the best for all of us. I am a mother of 2 children in the Spanish Bilingual program and am currently employed with the CBE in a specialized classroom at another school in the southwest. I look forward to getting to know all your children, learning from your children, and seeing them thrive and enjoy their time at Robert Warren. Thank you for allowing me this opportunity, for this I am grateful.

Volleyball Update
As we do every year, coaches invited any students interested to come to tryouts where students were told that the team would be decided based on interest, and the overall ability level of participants. The coaches made the decision that this years players, would best be suited for a girls junior team and a boys senior team.
We are also offering a co-ed developmental team for any students who did not make the competitive teams and who would like the opportunity to practice and improve their skills. Team lists and practice schedules will be posted outside the gym. Please contact the specific coach if you have any questions regarding a team.

Grade 6 ELA - This week, we learned about how to write an effective paragraph using "The Hamburger Method". We used planners to share one fact about us that we wrote in our Time Capsule Brochure. After planning, we used Google Docs to publish our paragraphs. Our Time Capsule is almost done! Next week, the finishing touches of decorating the outsides and adding some artifacts the time capsule creation will be complete. Students will be presenting their capsule to their classmates starting on Wednesday (this will be explained Monday). We also continued our work on EveryDay Edits and looking for errors in a paragraph. Check these out in our notes. Please remember to have a container brought to school on Monday as well as some items to put in your time capsule.
Grade 7 Humanities - This week, we worked extremely hard on our I AM Canadian Projects. The photo portion of this project is due to be shared with me by Monday, September 24 Remember: dlmorris@educbe.ca. The written portion is due on Thursday, September 27.
