Dear Roland Michener School Families,
It is with mixed emotions that I write this email to you. After three and a half wonderful years at Roland Michener School, I have made the difficult decision to move to a new school in the CBE. My last day of work at Roland Michener School will be June 30. The decision was not an easy one for me because of my deep commitment to RMS, the students, the staff, and the community. I truly have loved working in this community and my love for all of the students has not subsided.
When I was first appointed as Principal of Roland Michener School, I was very excited. I had so many ideas and dreams for this school, and I am happy to say I have seen them to fruition. Having been here for 3 1/2 years, I know every one of the students and I have enjoyed watching them grow and learn over the years, and building special relationships with them. I consider myself extremely fortunate to have served as an educator in such a vibrant and supportive community. I am incredibly fortunate to have been a colleague to such extraordinary staff members and parents who support the school.
Please know that my dedication and commitment will continue throughout the next 7 weeks, as I work with Education Director Prem Randhawa to provide a smooth transition for the incoming principal. There will be a survey sent out to families and staff to provide feedback on who will fill my position. Please take the time to complete it.
I want to thank you for all your encouragement, support and trust you have shown me over my years at Roland Michener School. I am confident that RMS will continue flourishing in the years to come.
Sincerely,
Cindy Palmer, Principal, Roland Michener School
