  • Students will be broken into small groups.  Emails will be sent individually on the day they are to come to school.
  • All children will attend school on August 19.

Lunch Supervision

The school provides a safe and secure place for students to have their lunch break. All students must be registered in the lunch program to stay at school. Daily drop-in fees are also available.  Roland Michener is not a nut-free school, we are a nut-aware school. Students that go home for lunch may return to school no earlier than 5 minutes before the notification bell rings when additional supervisors are outside.

To help support our lunch program, parents can:

  • Send nutritious lunches in a lunch bag labeled with their child’s name. It is appreciated when students bring their lunch to school in the morning.
  • Help students dress appropriately for the weather with all clothing items clearly labeled.
  • Remind your child not to share food.
  • Inform the school of any allergies and/or medical conditions.
  • Encourage packing litter- free lunches.

In the event of inclement weather, students will remain in their lunchroom.  Students that go home for lunch should return just before the bell and enter through the front doors as soon as they arrive at school.

For more information visit our Lunch Supervision page.

Registration Information

Please visit our How to Register page for registration details. Please note that the registration process is completed online, but schools can assist with any questions.

Messages are sent to the parent contacts on file at your school.

Fees and Waivers

School fees will be charged to families starting in October. Online fee payment is the simplest and most convenient way to pay school fees. Parents can use their online account to pay fees or apply for a waiver at: www.cbe.ab.ca/mycbe.

You can find more information on the CBE school fees and waivers page.

Yellow School Bus Transportation

Yellow school bus routes for the 2023-24 school year are created over the summer and based on the addresses submitted before the pre-registration deadline in June. Transportation continues to accept registrations after the deadline; however, students are added to the closest existing stop with available space. Processing times could be up to six weeks at the beginning of the school year due to volume.

More information about 2023-24 transportation service levels and proposed fees are posted on the CBE website.

Your bus stop location and time will be available in your MyCBE account by mid-August.

Conditional riders can also register using MyCBE. Applications will be considered after eligible riders registrations have been processed. Should routes change or if qualified students are added to a route and the bus becomes overcrowded, conditional riders may be removed to accommodate these changes.

Learn more about transportation on the CBE website.
