How to Register

Grade Configuration Changes at Roland Michener School

The Calgary Board of Education (CBE) will implement a grade configuration change at Abbeydale, Cappy Smart, Roland Michener, James Short Memorial, G.W. Skene and Dr. Gladys McKelvie Egbert Schools starting for the 2024-25 school year. These changes will help balance enrolment between schools in the Area and allow more students to attend school closer to home. Roland Michener School will expand from a kindergarten to Grade 5 school to a kindergarten to Grade 6 school for the 2024-25 school year.  This means current Grade 5 students will remain at Roland Michener School in the 2024-25 school year. Specialized setting classes will also be expanded to include Grade 6 students.

Please see the notice for more information.

School Accommodation Update

Our school is listed on the 2022-25 System School Accommodation Plan (SSAP), and we may see changes implemented at our school over the next few years. Please see this letter for more information.

What School is Next and Transferring Between CBE Schools

Every CBE student has a designated school based on their home address. When you transition from elementary to middle school, or from middle school to high school, you will be automatically registered at your designated school according to your home address. To find your designated school, use our Find a School tool.

If you are interested in attending a school other than your designated school, visit the Transfers webpage for transfer information. Please note that some schools are quite full and not able to accept all transfer requests.
