We follow the CBE traditional calendar. The calendar sets common start and end days, non-instructional days and holidays. For our school’s additional non-instructional days, late entries, early dismissal days and events, see our school calendar page.​

The Calgary Board of Education continues to plan for the health measures that may be in place for the next school year. More details will be shared with families before the first day of classes.

Back to School Information

First Day of Classes

Our first day of classes is September 1, 2021 and the school office is open to parents on Thursday, August 26, 2021.

Kindergarten

Kindergarten classes for students with last names beginning with A-I begin on  September 1, 2021.

Kindergarten classes for students with last names beginning with J-Z begin on September 2, 2021. 

 Please meet your teacher at the playground (south east) entrance.

Grades 1-6

Monday-Thursday: 

7:57am-2:32pm

Gr. 4-6 Lunch - 11:20-12pm (staggered lunch to support covid measures)

Gr. 1-3 Lunch - 12:05-12:45pm (staggered lunch to support covid measures)

Fridays:

7:57am-12:02pm (no lunch)

Kindergarten

AM Class - Monday-Thursday: 

7:57am-10:55am

PM Class - Monday-Thursday: 

11:35am-2:32pm

Fridays:

7:57am-12:02pm (no lunch)

EES Specialized Program

Monday-Thursday 7:45am-2:15pm

Lunch - 11:30-12:15

School Supplies

Classroom supplies will be provided by the school. All students should bring a pair of indoor shoes that can be left at school, a backpack, a water bottle, and a lunch kit with a healthy lunch and snacks.

Noon Supervision 

Noon Supervision is provided for all Grade 1-6 and EES students who remain at Ron Southern for lunch. We have adopted a split lunch schedule. More information about our split lunch schedule will be available in late August. Noon supervision fees can be paid through your MyCBE / PowerSchool account. 

Assigned Teachers

Classroom and Teacher assignments will be shared at the end of August. You will get an introductory message from your child(ren)'s teacher(s) with information about the first day by August 30, 2021.

Yellow School Bus Transportation

Bussing is available for the community of Belmont.

​​​Do You Have a MyCBE Parent Account?

Parents who have not already done so, must create an account in MyCBE to:

  • Pay fees or apply for a waiver

  • Register for transportation and lunch supervision

  • View student progress

To create a new account, go to www.cbe.ab.ca/mycbe and click on Create Parent Account. You will need to have your child(ren)’s CBE Student ID Number and use your email on file at the school.​

​​Fees and Waivers

School fees will be charged to families starting in October. Online fee payment is the simplest and most convenient way to pay school fees. Parents can use their online account to pay fees or apply for a waiver at: www.cbe.ab.ca/mycbe.
