Personal Belongings

Toys and Sports Equipment at School

Toys and large sports equipment including hockey and lacrosse sticks should be left at home. Toys frequently get lost or broken and become a distraction to learning. Small sports equipment such as balls (labelled with the students’ names) are allowed.

Cell Phone Use at School

Students have access to the school telephone for all emergencies. We value students’ learning time and we require students focus on their learning during school time. If it is necessary for a student to have a cell phone at school, we ask that it remains turned off in the student’s backpack or other secure location. Students can use their cell phones if it supports their learning (see Student-owned Devices).  The school cannot be held responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged property. Cell phones or other electronic devices are not to be used at recess or lunch.

Lost and Found

Due to health concerns, we will no longer be accumulating lost and found clothing items at the School. Please be sure to label all of your child's belongings (name or initials on clothing tag) including hoodies and sweaters that are often removed during the school day. Lost items will be on a cart in the lobby for students (or parents) to reclaim. We will be disposing of all unclaimed clothing items at the beginning of each month [useable items to charity and unusable items (single mittens, shoes, etc.) to the trash. All food containers from the Noon Hour Supervision program will be disposed of at the end of each school week.
