Welcome to the new school year and a special welcome to those families that are new to our wonderful school community. We hope that the summer was good to you and that you had the opportunity to experience life in a more normalized manner than we have in the last many months. I know many parents and students are eagerly waiting to see their friends, meet their teacher and embark upon another year of learning. We cannot wait to see your kids again!
Each school year is new and exciting as we establish new teams that work thoughtfully to create warm, welcoming and inspiring learning communities within our school. At Royal Oak School, we will continue to design engaging tasks that are directed towards supporting students' level of positive well-being and inspires them to take risks in their learning and be the best person they can be.
At the time of writing this, we have had 53 new registrations since staffing in the spring and are working on completing staffing and class lists as quickly as we can. On Tuesday afternoon, August 30th, teachers will be sending a school messenger message to welcome your child to their new classroom. This message will contain information regarding procedures for the first day of school, what to bring and any other relevant information that you might need.
If you are driving to drop your child off at school, please be on the look out for students as they are often distracted by all the excitement going on. We would ask that you do not park in the parking lot and remember to be considerate of our neighbours.
We look forward to a wonderful 2022-2023 school year.
See you on Thursday, September 1 for the first day of school.
Sincerely,
Gord Hamby
Principal – Royal Oak School
