Security

Supervision

Staff will be supervising students on the school grounds at the following times:

  • 7:45 – 8:00 AM
  • During their cohort recess break
  • During their cohort lunch break

Students should arrive at the school after 7:45 AM and just before their lunch break ends if they are going home for lunch.

School Access

Access to the school for visitors is through the front doors on the south side of the building. Doors are locked at all times but access may be granted by ringing the buzzer and giving the reason for your visit.

Visitor Sign-in

All visitors must sign in at the main office and be wearing either CBE ID or a visitor tag.

Picking Up Students

Doors are locked for security purposes. We ask that all parents, babysitters and siblings set a meeting place outside. All students will leave from their designated doors and meet their siblings outside. Please make sure your children know where their meeting place is.

Lockdowns

All CBE schools are required to practice lockdowns in the same way that we practice fire drills. The procedures for lockdowns are developed with the Calgary Police Service and are part of each school’s Emergency Response Plan. If you have questions about lockdown drills or lockdown procedures, please contact your principal.

Evacuation Procedures

In the event that the school needs to be evacuated for any reason, all staff have been trained according to CBE standards. All schools have a primary and a secondary evacuation site. In the event of an evacuation, you will receive an email, phone or SMS notification from the school.
