We had a wonderful 2022-23 school year filled with love, laughter and learning!
We would like to express our sincere appreciation to our school community and our School Council for your ongoing support of Saddle Ridge students. Our School Council sponsored one off-site activity for each grade and continued to fill our school library with wonderful, new books. The on-site and off-site activities were made possible because of our many parent volunteers.
In September 2022, our school enrolment was 584 students and throughout the year we welcomed many new students. Due to continued and unanticipated enrolment growth, Saddle Ridge School is now over capacity. This means all new student registrations will be designated to Hugh A. Bennett School. Students will be placed on a priority callback list in the event space becomes available at Saddle Ridge School.
This year, our School Development Plan has focused around literacy, math and well-being. Teachers have worked with each other and students to develop a variety of instructional strategies that continue to improve student writing across the curriculum areas. Alongside our literacy goal, we have also developed well-being for learning at Saddle Ridge. This goal has focused on expanding our students' sense of belonging in the school, by building connections in our school community. We are excited about the progress our students have made and will be creating new goals for our 2023-2024 school year.
As we finish this school year, we are also in the process of planning for next year. We look forward to welcoming most of our families back to Saddle Ridge School in August. Just before the first day of school, you will be receiving a Welcome Email from your child's teacher. This will introduce students to their new teacher and include classroom location, entry door information, pick-up information and other important start-of-the- year instructions.
At the end of the school year, we will be saying farewell to Ms. Miller (Grade 1), Mrs. Yuki (Grade 1), Mrs. Kooistra (Grade 3) and Mrs. Kumar (Grade 4). It has been a pleasure having these excellent teachers at Saddle Ridge School and we wish them all the best at their new schools.
All of our staff at Saddle Ridge School would like to take a final opportunity to wish you and your family a wonderful summer filled with love, laughter, and relaxation.
We look forward to seeing everyone back to school on August 31, 2023.
