Our first term has been filled with love, laughter and learning at Saddle Ridge School. Our staff is working hard to create a very Welcoming, Caring, Safe and Inclusive learning environment to ensure all students feel connected and are successful in their learning.
School Development Plan (SDP) and Professional Learning
During the months of September and October, our teachers spent time looking at our school learning data, ensuring that our three-year School Development Plan is focused on supporting our three goals: Well-being, Literacy, and Mathematics. All staff members are working with students to increase a sense of belonging and connection with each other and the school through the development of Welcoming, Caring, and Safe learning environments. Teachers continue to focus on improving writing in Literacy and procedural fluency in Mathematics.
School Council and School Society
Parents and community members are important partners in public education. Through school councils, our partners can make significant and meaningful contributions to the learning opportunities provided to CBE students. – CBE The Role of School Council
Thank you to all the parents who attended our in-person and virtual School Council Meetings in October and November. During these meetings we were able to share our School Development Plan, 2022-2023 school organization, and other important school information.
The Saddle Ridge School Society also met in October and November. The Saddle Ridge School Society continually raises funds for school projects and activities to enhance programming for our students. Our School Society has enhanced our school playground with the addition of park benches, purchased books for our Learning Commons and supported guest experts in the school.
Our next School Council and Society meetings are on Monday, January 30, 2023, at 1:30 p.m. We would like to invite all interested parents to attend. More information will be sent out closer to the meeting date.
We have had an excellent first term of the 2022-2023 school year and look forward to a successful and amazing second term.
Sincerely,
Sandra Levesque, Principal
Anita Chaudhary, Assistant Principal
