Reporting Absences or Lates

The School Act states that school attendance is compulsory for all students under the age of 16.  We are required to keep accurate records of student attendance and to investigate student absenteeism. The school does not encourage students to take extended vacations/leaves during the academic year. If a student will be missing school for a period of time for reasons other than illness, parents and guardians are requested to contact the office and your child’s teacher via email as soon as you are aware of upcoming absence.

Picking up Students and Late Students

If parents/guardians need to pick up their child during school hours they must come to the office to sign out their child. For the safety and security of our students, parents/guardians are not permitted to go to classrooms during school hours to pick up children.

When a child is arriving late or returning to school they must report to the office for a late slip. Students may then proceed to their classroom.  For the safety and security of our students, we ask that you say goodbye to your child in the office.  If necessary we will provide a staff member to take the student to their class.

Dismissal Information

This is required for all students in our school.

If you have not yet filled out the After School Transportation - Dismissal Information Form for your child/children it is critically important that you do so. This provides invaluable information to us regarding the after school procedures for your child and helps ensure they arrive to their final destination in a safe and efficient manner. Please call the office if you require a replacement form. These forms were stapled to the outside of your First Day package along with Demographic information.

Dropping off items

Parents please drop off forgotten items (homework, lunch, snow pants etc.) at the office and we will make sure your child gets the item. This will help reduce disruptions to the classrooms.
