QuickLinks

The QuickLinks section of the Scheduler lets you manage which QuickLinks appear on your home page. This isn't the same as how you manage QuickLinks overall, or how you determine which ones should be shown on your site's QuickLinks page (you can find more information about that in the general QuickLinks section of this site).

Managing Your Home Page QuickLinks

The QuickLinks section is shown at the bottom of the Scheduler. If you don't see any items listed (or the Click Here to Add QuickLinks message), click the arrow icon to expand the section. You can see which QuickLinks are currently displayed on your home page, their display order, their source (either the Central Library for system-wide items or a library with your school name for school-specific ones that users at your school have created), as well as the number of used and available slots:

Add a QuickLink

To add an item to the QuickLink zone on your home page, click the link that says:

(SPOILER ALERT..............) "CLICK HERE TO ADD QUICKLINKS"

This will open the Add QuickLinks wizard. If you have one or more open slots, just expand the categories you'd like to choose from and select the QuickLink you'd like to include on your home page:

When you've selected all of the QuickLinks you'd like to include, click Save to return to the main Scheduler screen:

Don't forget to save again in the main Scheduler screen to apply any changes to your site!

Remove a QuickLink

There are two ways to remove a QuickLink from your home page. Note that a top-secret/unintentional third way is to completely remove the QuickLink from your site (by deleting a local QuickLink or un-sharing a central QuickLink), but the steps outlined below will allow you to manage the QuickLinks on your home page without impacting the rest of your website.

Main Scheduler View

If you're in the Add QuickLink wizard there's a QuickLink you no longer want to display on your home page or you need to open up a spot to replace one of the QuickLinks on your home page, uncheck the box beside the QuickLink you'd like to remove. You can keep the slot empty or choose a new QuickLink to go into it, and then click Save to confirm. Just like when you add a QuickLink, don't forget to save again in the main Scheduler screen before you exit.

You can also remove a QuickLink from you home page directly from the main Scheduler window. Just click the three-dots action icon, and choose Remove QuickLink:

Add QuickLink View

If you're in the Add QuickLink wizard there's a QuickLink you no longer want to display on your home page (or you need to open up a spot to replace one of the QuickLinks on your home page), simply uncheck the box beside the QuickLink you'd like to remove. Just like when you add a QuickLink, don't forget to save your changes in the Add QuickLink screen and again in the main Scheduler screen before you exit.

Change the Order of Your QuickLinks

You can change the display order of the QuickLinks on your home page just by grabbing the QuickLink you'd like to move and dragging it to the spot you'd like to see it in:

After you've changed the order of your QuickLinks, don't forget to click Save at the bottom of the Scheduler to apply the changes to your site.

Lock a QuickLink

It's possible to lock a QuickLink on your home page, but you usually won't need to use this function. Because QuickLinks (unlike news stories) don't rotate automatically, you don't need to worry about a QuickLink being cycled off of the home page unintentionally. Only other users at your school with advanced (Approver) permissions can manage home page QuickLinks in the scheduler, and they also have access to change the status of a QuickLink to unlocked, so it doesn't prevent them from making changes.
