Attendance

Attendance Line: 403-777-6193 ext. 1

If your child is unable to attend school due to illness, please email: scenicacres@cbe.ab.ca or call the office at number above.

For safety, please ensure you call or email our school to report a student’s absence or to indicate that the student will be late. We become concerned if your child is not at school and we have not received a message about this. If a child is absent and we have not been notified in advance, the office staff will attempt to contact parents at home or work.

Arriving Late

Students who arrive at school late are to report to the office for a late slip before going to class. An “excused” late is defined as a medical appointment or other event of that status. All other late arrivals are considered “unexcused”.

Frequent Absences

If a student is frequently late or absent, families will be contacted, in order to develop strategies together to support an attendance plan. Whenever possible please plan for students to be at school, everyday during instructional time.  Although at times this is not possible, we advise you to minimize absenteeism due to appointments, or picking up your child early to go home.
