Please visit our COVID-19 page for the most up-to-date information. Our plan is subject to change throughout the school year as more information becomes available.

One of the most important ways parents/guardians and community members can make a meaningful difference for students is by participating on the school council. Under the School Act, a school council is a collective association designed to advise the principal and the CBE Board of Trustees on matters related to the school. School councils have legislated advisory and decision-making authority. They are different from Parent Societies & Associations, whose main function is to raise funds for the school. You can find more details in the CBE School Council Handbook.

School Council News

We are excited to roll out a new Scenic Ares School Council Communication Plan! The system allows parents/guardians to sign up for our Council's mailing list. By subscribing, you will receive emails directly from Council Committees regarding meetings, events, fundraising, volunteering opportunities, newsletters and other Council related information. This will be the main way to receive this information going forward.

To sign up, please go to:, choose "Scenic Acres", then subscribe to each grade level that your children attend (i.e., if your family has children in both Kindergarten and Grade 4, you will need to sign up for both grades).

Every year many CBE schools participate in a Terry Fox Run. In 2020, our schools raised an incredible $163,886.64 for cancer research. Thank you to all of our students, staff and school communities who have kept Terry’s dream alive 40 years after his journey began! #WeAreCBE

RT @UsihChristopher: We thank you for your patience and understanding as we work to make this learning shift for next week. While it is yet another significant change, we hope that it will serve to reduce the current learning disruptions that are continuing to occur in our schools.
