Our CBE Student Code of Conduct and CBE Progressive Student Discipline regulation apply to all of our students. They outline the roles and expectations for our students to promote positive and inclusive learning environments, help students to develop empathy and become good citizens both within and outside of the school community, and explain the consequences when a student’s disruptive behaviour negatively affects the learning environment.

Our CBE Employee Code of Conduct applies to all of our employees. The CBE maintains high standards for the conduct of its employees, and expects them to conduct themselves honestly and with integrity and exercise common sense, good judgement and discretion.

Code of Conduct

Our students are noted for the positive attitude they display towards their school and their work. At school, and on the way to and from school, and on any occasion you are a representative of Simon Fraser, we expect you will represent us well. For our school to maintain this positive atmosphere, we expect proper behaviour, honesty, good manners, courtesy, and fair play. Always respect the rights of fellow students, teachers, bus drivers, secretaries, lunchroom staff, caretakers and substitute teachers. Students are responsible to the Principal for their behaviour at all times.

To be successful in this school you must:

  • respect the rights and property of others – students and adults
  • respect yourself - use your abilities and your attitude to do your best at all times.

All of our rules and procedures are based on the preceding two expectations. We are proud of the citizenship shown in the school and community.

Attendance Procedures

When entering the school, please assist the caretakers by cleaning or removing outer footwear. In the morning we have 'open' hallways and you are free to go to lockers or any open area. Be sure to have a teacher's permission before going into an unoccupied classroom.

At lunch, you are asked to follow the expectations of the lunchroom supervisors. After eating and cleaning up your lunch, you may attend a supervised activity, visit quietly with friends in the hallway or lunchroom, or enjoy the weather outside. The library and computer room are open at 12:15. We encourage students to use this time to take advantage of intramurals, clubs, computers, extra help, library etc.
