First Day of Classes

Our first day of classes is Wednesday Sep. 1, 2021 and the school office is open to parents on Friday Aug. 27, 2021 at 9:15 AM. Our first day protocols will be emailed to families once plans are solidified.

Kindergarten classes begin on Wednesday, September 1, 2021 with students participating in ‘staggered entry’. Each student is assigned a staggered entry time and will come to school for approximately 65 minutes on September 1 and 2, 2021. Families will be notified of staggered entry times through an email.  Please ensure that the office has your correct email address. Busing begins for kindergarten students on September 3, 2021.

Dear Kindergarten Families,

To help ease your child into kindergarten, we will stagger entry for the first two days of school – Wednesday, September 1st and Thursday, September 2nd, 2021. Alternate Friday times will begin on Friday, September 3th, with AM Kindergarten attending 9:10am - 12:06pm (no class for PM kindergarten). Regular classes will start Tuesday September 7.

Monday – Thursday, 9:10AM – 12:06 AM
PM Monday – Thursday 12:53 PM – 3:50PM.
AM/PM Kindergarten alternate coming on Fridays 9:10 am – 12:06 pm.

During staggered entry, buses will NOT run for kindergarten students. You will need to make arrangements for these two days for your child to come to and from school. Regular bussing will begin on Friday, September 3rd.

When you arrive with your child, please wait with him or her in the kindergarten corral (blue door with a short black fence, located next to the SVS parking lot), until a teacher comes out to join you. At this time, parents and guardians will transfer care of their child to the teacher and leave. In the event that your child is upset, please trust school staff to provide the necessary support. Once the children see that they are in a safe place with caring teachers, they will settle. Your willingness to leave shows your child that you trust us to provide a safe and caring school experience.

Regular bell times and bussing will begin on Tuesday September 7th – AM class 9:10 am – 12:06 pm and PM class 12:53 pm – 3:50 pm. Do not forget to check your Kindergarten calendar for Alternate Fridays.

Yellow School Bus Transportation

Yellow school bus routes for the 2021-22 school year are created over the summer and based on the addresses submitted before the pre-registration deadline in June. Transportation continues to accept registrations after the deadline; however, students are added to the closest existing stop with available space. Processing times could be up to six weeks at the beginning of the school year due to volume.

More information about 2021-22 transportation service levels and proposed fees are posted on the CBE website.

Your bus stop location and time will be available in your MyCBE / PowerSchool account by mid-August.

Conditional riders can also register using MyCBE / PowerSchool. Applications will be considered after eligible riders registrations have been processed.
