As this unprecedented year comes to a close, we would like to congratulate all the students that have worked so hard in band.  We want to recognize the hard work of the Grade 9 Wind Ensemble, who did a spectacular job performing at the Alberta International Band Festival, the Grades 9 and 8 Jazz Bands that were about to dazzle the students at feeder schools, Radisson Heights and Chris Akkerman, and the Grade 8 Wind Ensemble that were going to shine at the Alberta International Band Festival in April, all accumulating to a wonderful first ever (and hopefully annual) Band Camp in May.  The Grade 7s in our first semester gave Ms Palleschi goosebumps in their final concert and the Grade 6s gave an unforgettable performance of the best kids' song out there, Baby Shark.

Although it was unfortunate that we did not get a chance to experience some of these events, Ms Palleschi and Ms Chan would like to say how proud we are of our students.  We are so happy to see students wanting to play extra music to join another band's performance, students that are volunteering to sell popcorn just to help out and excited to have the 'Elite' conversations about our hoodies.  It has truly been a great year and we are so excited to get back to school to organize more amazing events!

Band Instrument Rental

All students are required to take Band as part of the TLC program. They will need to rent an instrument through Long & McQuade. Costs vary depending on the instrument played. 

Beginning in the 2020-2021 school year, Long and McQuade have set up different ways to rent instruments from them.

1)  ONLINE RENTALS - New for 2020 is their simple, easy-to-navigate, online program.  Simply click Long & McQuade Rentals to get to the Long & McQuade website and they will take it from there. Once you are on their website click on the green tab that says "RENT AN INSTRUMENT NOW!!"  Great instruments in your child's hands, with no extra effort on your to-do list!

 2)  IN STORE RENTALS - The store staff at all Long & McQuade stores are ready to answer any questions parents might have and to put great quality instruments in the hands of your child.  If you are looking for a RENT-TO-OWN or a Step-Up instrument, they can answer all those questions in their store!
