Principal's Message

Principal's Message - November 6, 2020

Dear Parents and Students
Our school has been working hard to ensure Alberta Health Services (AHS) regulations and guidelines for schools are being closely followed. We have been working in consultation with an AHS inspector, who has been impressed with the safety measures at the school.  We will continue to work closely with AHS, CBE and Alberta Education as new cases emerge to ensure that we are focussed on learning, while addressing the health and safety of our school community.
We have been impressed with our students; however, we understand that many of our students are experiencing COVID fatigue.  Nevertheless, we must continue to follow the safety protocols – mask wearing, social distancing when possible, washing our hands frequently and sanitizing on a regular basis.  We remain vigilant and continue to reinforce the importance of following the guidelines set forth by Alberta Health Services.
As of today, the majority of our students and staff who have been under mandatory isolation orders will be returning.  As of October 23, 2020 – we have not had any additional reported cases of COVID-19.  The school will remain under “watch".
As per Alberta Health Services direction, we must have 28 consecutive days without a positive case before the “watch" will be removed.  From our communications with Alberta Health Services we understand that the transmissions have been coming from outside of our school.
We continue to ask for your support and cooperation.  We ask all families to be diligent in following the safety protocols when not at school.  As I continue to re-iterate, this is a collective responsibility and we must work together to keep one another safe.
I hope you all enjoy your weekend and keep safe.
Sincerely
Mr. A. Rajan
Principal
