Attendance

Attendance Line: 403-777-7001 ext. 1.

If your child is going to be late please notify the school at the number above  This line is checked twice each day. If your child is absent and we have not received a phone call or other notification from you, we will attempt to phone you at home or at work to ensure your child is safe.

When a child arrives at school after classes have begun, please ensure that they check in at the office to get a late slip before going to class so they are not marked absent. If a student needs to leave early (i.e. for an appointment), a parent or guardian must go to the main office and record the early departure in the Record of Early Dismissal binder located in the main office. Being on time with regular attendance is a strong contributor to student academic and personal success.

Extended Absences

Please notify the school office and classroom teacher if your child will be away from school for extended periods of time. When families choose to take their child on a family holiday when school is in session, the teacher is not expected or required to provide school homework for the time missed. Our school website provides online sites and activities to support student learning.

Attendance Expectations at the CBE

We believe there is a strong correlation between attendance and effective education. The CBE Administrative Regulation 6020 - Attendance of Students regulation applies to all of our students, and outlines the responsibilities for students, parents and school staff.

Friday, Sept 24 is a system-wide non-instructional day so there are no classes for CBE students. Have a safe long weekend and please continue to follow all public health measures #WeAreCBE https://t.co/2BCAzks4jb

RT @Indigenous_cbe: Today is fall equinox - a time when daylight & nighttime share the sky equally. Today is also Treaty 7 Day - the 144th anniversary of the signing of Treaty 7. The 🌞 & 🌙s equality today teaches us how to honour the treaty...by walking together in equal partnership. #welcomeoko https://t.co/7nUdmGVAVL
