Where Our Fundraising Goes
Fundraising efforts supported by the Somerset School Council and led by the Friends of Somerset School Foundation enhance student learning and student life at Somerset School.
Some examples where the money raised goes are:
- Family picnic entertainment
- Sports day ice-cream
- Permanent benches for the 10th anniversary (located out front)
- Canada 150 Fence Art Legacy Project
- Library books
- Physical education and music equipment
- Art supplies, hands-on learning materials for mathematics, science, language arts and social studies
- Outdoor Education field trips to Ann and Sandy Cross Conservation Area
- Live theatre performances
- Popcorn machine
- Hip hop dance residencies
- Home reading books
- Student agendas and technology
The Somerset School Council, FSSF and volunteers, in cooperation with the school, organize and run the School Family Dance and Spring Carnival, the seven special treat days throughout the year and run and lead the Friends of Somerset School Foundation fundraising casino and other fundraising efforts.
