Love of Literacy

The Calgary Board of Education’s vision of literacy is each CBE student will develop the necessary literacy skills to thrive in life, work and continued learning. Alongside the CBE literacy outcome of students participating in intentional, joyful literacy learning our school focuses on engaging students in understanding literacy across all subject disciplines using a multitude of balanced literacy strategies. Through these strategies we help students progress and achieve in their learning programs. Above all else, we strive to instill a joy of reading for all of our students where they instinctually want to pick up a book, any good book and immerse themselves between the lines.

RT @WesternRedhawks: This past year, a committee of students has been hard at work gathering student voice and consulting with Elders and Knowledge Keepers in the planning of a garden in the courtyard area off of the main foyer. #wearecbe https://t.co/r5VyCRdCX9 https://t.co/CuBU8EuVan
