Lunch Supervision

The Calgary Board of Education provides students with the option to stay at school for lunch. Lunch Supervision is offered to all students in Grades 1- 6 and in our full-day kindergarten programs for an annual fee. Please visit our Lunch Supervision page for information.

Expectations

All students choosing to have lunch at school are asked to eat in their designated areas unless they are under the direct supervision of a staff member. No students are to eat in the Learning Commons or the Computer Lab under any circumstances. We expect everyone staying for lunch to respect the community, the building and other people by speaking quietly, cleaning up after themselves and playing cooperatively. If students are not able to follow these expectations they may lose their lunch hour privileges.

Allergies

We are a nut free school.  Several of our students and teachers have severe allergies to nuts, meaning anaphylactic severe.  Please do not send snacks or lunches that contain nuts. We are open to pea butter and wow butter as long as it is labelled for our lunchroom supervisors to see.  If these are not labelled we will ask students to put it back in their lunch bags to take home. Thank you for your support in this matter.

See more about allergies and other medical information on our Illness & Medical page.

Fun Lunches

If your child/children would like to participate in the upcoming Fun Lunches, you will need to sign up for an online account as all ordering is done by you, through their website. You can pick and choose which lunches you would like to participate in and select from a few choices of meals. We hope to choose a different type of lunch each month. Some examples are subs and pizza.

The website you will need to sign up at is www.healthyhunger.ca. You will find our school is listed as Stanley Jones / Alice Jamieson Girls' Academy.

Lunchroom Policy | Noon Hour

Grade 1-6

All students staying for lunch in Grades 1-6 will be expected to complete a lunchroom contract and pay a lunchroom fee. You can use your MyCBE / PowerSchoolto pay for the fees. All registered Grades 1-6 students are expected to stay on school property during the noon hour. Lunchroom supervision fees are considered a tax deductible child care expense. Tax receipts will be sent home around the end of February or early in March.

Grade 7-9

Grade 7-9 students are responsible for themselves during the lunch hour. If these students wish to eat in the school, they must eat in the designated area. Students in Grades 7-9 may leave the school grounds during the lunch hour with the permission of their parents. Students are expected to take full responsibility for their behaviour while they are off campus. The neighboring community expects that students will behave appropriately and not loiter, litter or damage any property. Proper school uniforms must be worn when leaving the school property at lunch time and on the way to and from school. Failing to follow these expectations will result in a loss of off campus and free dress day privileges.
