Principal December 2021 Message

"Winter is a time for celebration and reflection. Enjoy life and enjoy the land." ~ Elder Saa'kokoto

At Sundance, we have had a December filled with school activities and events that continue to build on creating a culture of peace, kindness, and resilience. It was wonderful to see our students sharing family traditions in kindergarten, creating works of art across the grades, and engaging in classroom tasks, taking part in spirit days during a remarkably busy December. We would like to thank the school community who generously donated to the Calgary Food Bank Drive – Loonies for Lunch in December and for making a difference in the lives of others.  We collected $657.45 towards the Loonies for Lunch program. Thank you for your continued support, generosity, and kindness.

In appreciation:
We would like to thank the Sundance Parent Assocation for supporting our annual Holiday Breakfast. Although we would have preferred to celebrate face to face, we so appreciate everyone for making this event a special one for our students despite the pandemic. Thank you to our School Council Social Committee for working alongside our teacher rep to plan the event. I appreciate the fact that Lou Q. was able to find enough mandarin oranges and special treats for each of our students for the Holiday Breakfast. Also thank you to our lunchroom supervisors who kindly packaged the treats for each classroom. Together we are stronger and better together.  We would also like to thank families for the treats shared with us during this past week. We are very grateful.

Did you know.....we have started classroom cohorted extracurricular actitvies at Sundance such as music, technology and student-led clubs? You can read more here: Extracurricular Clubs
