Traffic Safety

Ensuring our students get to school safely is everyone’s responsibility. Please be mindful of crosswalks, parking rules and speed limits when you are near our schools, especially during the morning drop-off and afternoon dismissal times.

Parking & Drop-Off

Sunnyside School Parking Lot is reserved for Staff Use from 7:00am to 6:00pm.

Please Do Not Park in the following areas:

  • Bus parking at the front of the school
  • Private driveways on the south side of the school

Visitor Parking

Due to an increase in the number of staff at the school who use our parking lot, we no longer have enough space for visitor parking. Please refrain from using the staff parking lot during drop-off and pick-up as well as throughout the day as all spots are now designated. We do have two hour parking on 7th Street available directly in front of the school for your convenience.

Before & After School Supervision

Teachers provide outside supervision at 8:25am. Please do not send children to school earlier than this. The dismissal time for the end of the day is 3:30pm. We ask that children leave the school and playground promptly, as there is no school supervision of students after 3:30pm.

Parents are required to take full responsibility for their children at the end of the school day; children who remain on the school playground must be supervised by a parent/adult. Please ensure that while you are supervising your child on the playground that the school safety rules and expectations are both respected and followed.
