School Supplies

Students supplies are provided by the school for children in kindergarten through Grade 6. Families are to provide indoor shoes, backpacks, lunch, and snacks. You may also choose to send your child with a water bottle.

School Calendar

View our School Calendar for upcoming events and dates. See the CBE website for system calendars.

Lunch Supervision

Lunchtime is from 11:50 AM to 12:40 PM and we have a 4-day lunch supervision program available. View our Lunch Supervision page for information how to register.

Families who wants to register their children in the lunchroom program must register online. The best way to register your child is by going to preregister them using MyCBE account.

Food in School

Within the health curriculum the students learn about healthy eating. Having a lunch filled with fruits, vegetables, sandwiches and other healthy foods will ensure your child is able to focus on his/her studies for the afternoon classes. Please assist us with educating the students with regards to healthy eating by providing a well-balanced lunch.

We would like to thank all of Taradale parents for providing their children with healthy, nutritious snacks and lunches on a daily basis. Parents are reminded to discuss with their children the importance of only eating their own snacks and lunches to prevent the sharing of food. We have students in our schoolhouse who have severe allergies to peanuts, cashews and other food sources which if eaten could create a medical difficulty. Please minimize the amount of peanut products in your child’s snacks and lunches.

Working together to teach our students to eat only their own food and not sharing, as well as to be aware and sensitive to each other’s allergies, is key in maintaining a safe environment for all of our Taradale students.

Assigned Teachers

Please arrive at the school at approximately 8:05 – 8:10 AM.

  • All teachers will greet children outside.
  • An email message will be sent by the classroom teacher identifying Teacher Name and Room Number.
  • We will begin a Gradual Entry at 8:09 AM and students will enter
  • A school package will be sent home at the beginning of the school year which includes the school calendar, fees, information on lunchroom program, required forms.

Registration Information

Please visit our How to Register page for all registration details. Please note that the registration process is completed online, but schools can assist with any questions.

Messages are sent to the parent contacts on file at your school.

Fees and Waivers

School fees will be charged to families starting in October. Online fee payment is the simplest and most convenient way to pay school fees. Parents can use their online account to pay fees or apply for a waiver at: www.cbe.ab.ca/mycbe.

You can find more information on the CBE school fees and waivers page.

Yellow School Bus Transportation

Yellow school bus routes for the 2023-24 school year are created over the summer and based on the addresses submitted before the pre-registration deadline in June. Transportation continues to accept registrations after the deadline; however, students are added to the closest existing stop with available space. Processing times could be up to six weeks at the beginning of the school year due to volume.

More information about 2023-24 transportation service levels and proposed fees are posted on the CBE website.

Your bus stop location and time will be available in your MyCBE account by mid-August.

Conditional riders can also register using MyCBE. Applications will be considered after eligible riders registrations have been processed. Should routes change or if qualified students are added to a route and the bus becomes overcrowded, conditional riders may be removed to accommodate these changes.

Learn more about transportation on the CBE website.
