Health & Wellness at the CBE

At the CBE, we believe in a whole school approach to health and wellness. We call this our Comprehensive School Health (CSH) approach. CSH is about healthy eating, active living, supportive social environments and positive mental health. As a system, we focus on the following four areas: healthy eating; healthy relationships; physical activity; and positive mental health. Each school creates its own approach and goals for health and wellness.

Visit the CBE website to learn more about health and wellness in schools.

Community Health Nurse

Hope everyone is doing as well as possible during these challenging times. Please stay informed. The following is a message from our community social worker:

Hi families of Thorncliffe School

I am a Community Social Worker in Thorncliffe Greenview with Calgary Neighbourboods.  I know this is a very challenging time.  If you are in need of support at this time, or are organizing any creative community support, please contact me at 403-828-8394 or Tannis.eapen@calgary.ca

Take care,
Tannis

Recess

All Grade 1-6 students are expected to go outside for recess and lunch recess. We ask that students come suitably dressed for the weather. An indoor recess will be held when weather conditions pose a safety concern, or when the temperature is -20˚ Celsius or colder. See more on our Cold Weather Days page.
