Students receive ongoing feedback and assessment for learning (formative assessment) on a daily basis. This is accomplished through many means such as observation, conversation, anecdotal teacher comments, written notes, self/peer assessment, checklists, and rubrics. This information is used to create a broad-based assessment of student understanding, to create actionable feedback, and to guide next steps for instruction and personalization of learning.
Report Cards
Students will receive two report cards in January and June, as well as three formal conference times when families can meet with teachers to discuss student progress in relation to the outcomes in the Programs of Study. We ask that families discuss and analyze student report cards with their child. Our belief in timely, open communication means that we encourage parents/guardians to communicate with teachers at any time during the school year to discuss student progress.
