Learning Commons / Library

What is a Learning Commons?

“A learning commons is an inclusive, flexible, learner-centred, physical and/or virtual space for collaboration, inquiry, imagination and play to expand and deepen learning.”

The Tom Baines Learning Commons is at the centre of our school learning community. Due to the pandemic, we can no longer welcome students into the space, but we are still open for business! Students are welcome to explore using eLibrary--our online catalogue—for a different way to ‘browse’ our collection. You can search by title, author, subject, or genre! Just click the eLibrary link to the right on this page and then click on ‘Using eLibrary’ for more information. When you have found a book you’d like to request, click on the link to our Student Book Request Form, and fill out the details. For digital resources, you can log into our D2L Brightspace, and under ‘Content’, you’ll find a number of online resources, including textbooks.

If you have any questions or would like more information, please email our library inbox at

I am available between 8:30 and 3:30.
