This is our second year running a school Robotics Club. This club is open to Grades 7 to 9 students who have an interest in coding and engineering. Our club is mentored by William Aberhart Students and meets Mondays after school. Students in our club participate in the FIRST Tech Challenge. 

 “FIRST Tech Challenge teams (10+ members, grades 7-12) are challenged to design, build, program, and operate robots to play a floor game in an alliance format. Participants call it “the hardest fun you’ll ever have!” Guided by adult Coaches and Mentors, students develop STEM skills and practice engineering principles (like keeping an engineering notebook), while realizing the value of hard work, innovation, and sharing ideas. Teams also must raise funds, design and market their team brand, and do community outreach.

All FIRST competitions are infused with the concept of “gracious professionalism”, and promote the idea of cooperation amongst teams
