Clubs

Throughout the year, teachers may volunteer their time to offer a variety of opportunities for students in grades one through five. Opportunities may include Lego, robotics, coding, math, art, environment, chess, culture, board games, floor hockey, etc. Each club is typically six to eight sessions and occurs one to two days per week. All clubs are run after students have eaten lunch during the regular lunch recess period from 11:45 AM - 12:10 PM.

Mme Courtney also meets with students chosen to represent their class in a Student Leadership Group.  This group meets once or twice each month to discuss school issues and give students a voice in how we can help all students at VAS feel safe, cared for, and welcomed. Discussions also include what we can do to improve learning in our school and brainstorming ways we can help students feel connected to the school community.
