We follow the CBE traditional calendar. The calendar sets common start and end days, non-instructional days and holidays. For our school’s additional non-instructional days, late entries, early dismissal days and events, see our school calendar page.​

Back to School Information

First Day of Classes 

Our first day of classes is Thursday, Sep. 1, 2022, with Friday, Sep. 2, 2022 being our first Early Dismissal day (where all classes end at 12:05 PM).  
The school office is open to parents on Monday, Aug. 29, 2022.

School Start & End Times

Grades 1 – 5:

Mondays – Thursdays:  8:00 AM – 2:35 PM (with lunch from 11:25 AM – 12:10 PM)

Fridays: 8:00 AM – 12:05 PM (with no lunch break).  ALL CLASSES END EVERY FRIDAY AT 12:05 PM

Kindergarten:

AM Class: Mondays – Thursdays: 8:00 AM – 10:50 AM

PM Class: Mondays – Thursdays:  11:45 AM – 2:35 PM

AM or PM Class – Alternating Fridays: 8:00 AM – 12:05 PM (see our calendar for which dates AM and PM attend)

Lunch Supervision 

Grades 1 to 5 have a lunch break from 11:25 AM - 12:10 PM. Students registered for Lunch Supervision will eat from 11:25 AM - 11:45 AM and have time for outdoor lunch recess from 11:45 AM - 12:10 PM. If your child requires a bit more time to eat, they will have that option before going outside. For more information visit our Lunch Supervision page.

Assigned Teachers 

A message to families will be sent out via School Messenger with information about homeroom and teacher assignments, as well as where to meet on the morning of September 1 for the first day of school.

Kindergarten  

All kindergarten students will start on the first day of school, September 1 for the regular school hours.  Please note, there will be NO staggered entry this year.

​​​​Do You Have a MyCBE Account? Have You Added Your Child(ren) To the Account?

Parents / Legal Guardians / Independent Students who have not already done so, must create a MyCBE account and add their child(ren) to the account to:

  • access your child’s program information (e.g., course assessments, daily attendance record, report card)
  • view your child’s learning using Brightspace by D2L
  • pay fees and request waivers
  • register for transportation and lunch ​supervision
  • book parent-teacher conferences
  • submit online school forms (required for 2022-23 school year)

You will need your email address on file at the school as well as your child’s CBE ID, which can be found on the:

  • SchoolEngage student profile, for families that registered their child using SchoolEngage.

​​Fees and Waivers

School fees will be charged to families starting in October. Online fee payment is the simplest and most convenient way to pay school fees. Parents can use their online account to pay fees or apply for a waiver at: www.cbe.ab.ca/mycbe.

​​​​Yellow School Bus Tra​nsportation

Yellow school bus routes for the 2022-23 school year are created o​ver the summer and based on the addresses submitted before the pre-registration deadline in June. Transportation continues to accept registrations after the deadline; however, students are added to the closest existing stop with available space. Processing times could be up to six weeks at the beginning of the school year due to volume.

Your bus stop location and time will be available in your MyCBE account by mid-August.

Conditional riders can also register using MyCBE. Applications will be considered after eligible riders registrations have been processed.
