Personal Belongings

Lost & Found

Articles of clothing or other items found around the school or playground are deposited in the lost and found near the main entrance of the school. Valuables and money are to be turned into the office. As many students do not claim their belongings, parents are asked to check the lost and found periodically to claim their children’s possessions. We request all of your child’s belongings brought to school be clearly labeled (including footwear).

Items will be displayed on conference evenings – please make a point of checking. We also request that parents discourage their children from bringing items of considerable monetary or personal value to school. Unclaimed items are sent to a charity quarterly.

Bicycles and Other Sports Equipment

We certainly encourage active living practices with children such as riding a bicycle to school. Upon arrival at the school and for the safety of all students, cyclists are expected to walk bicycles on school grounds during school hours. When bicycles are brought to school they should be locked in the bicycle rack provided. All riders (skaters and boarders included) must wear a safety helmet.

Inline skates that are worn to school as a means of transportation must be exchanged for outdoor shoes prior to entering the school grounds and placed into a backpack. Once a student is at the edge of the school grounds, they must carry their skateboard.

The school cannot be responsible for damaged or stolen equipment brought to school.

Personal Electronic Devices

Our school has a Digital Citizenship plan and an Acceptable Use Policy that addresses the appropriate use of electronic devices at school. Students who disregard this policy will have that device confiscated and returned at the end of the day to either the student or his/her parent.

  • Are the student’s responsibility
  • Must be stored in backpacks and not brought into the classroom without permission Cell Phones: In order to provide for the safety and security of each student, and to control access to
your child during school hours, cell phone use by students is not permitted in the school during school hours. Students who violate this rule will have their cell phones confiscated. The exception to this policy will be teacher-supervised use for instructional purposes. We would ask for the cooperation of parents NOT to call or text their child during class time

Personal items

Students who bring personal items to school are responsible for looking after them. The school cannot be responsible for lost or damaged items. Please ensure that all items have names on them for identification.
