Personal Belongings

Bicycle racks are provided at the school for student use, however, the students must provide their own locks. The school does not assume responsibility for bicycles brought to the school. It is the decision of the parent/guardian whether a child brings a bike, rollerblades, skateboards or scooters to school. These are not to be used when on school grounds. Security and storage of skateboards, scooters and roller blades are the responsibility of the student in consultation with the classroom teacher. All equipment is brought to school at the students’ own risk. All students must wear helmets. (It is the law for bicycle users.)

Students are encouraged to leave valuables such as mobile devices at home. We are not responsible for recovering lost items.

Lost and Found

Students are expected to look after their belongings. The Lost and Found box is always full. When students lose clothing it is usually in the lost and found box located in the main hall or at the office. Every effort is made to help students locate lost articles when they inform staff. It is much easier to return lost articles to their owner if they are labeled with the child’s name. Label all clothing, backpacks and indoor shoes. Please feel free to come to the school and have a look through our Lost and Found box if your child cannot find a missing article. It is easier for us to return house keys when the child’s first name or initials are attached to the key.

Keys, glasses and similar small items are kept at the office.

Personal Electronic Devices

Our school has a Digital Citizenship plan and an Acceptable Use Policy that addresses the appropriate use of electronic devices at school. Students who disregard this policy will have that device confiscated and returned at the end of the day to either the student or his/her parent.
