Please visit our COVID-19 page for the most up-to-date information. Our plan is subject to change throughout the school year as more information becomes available.

One of the most important ways parents/guardians and community members can make a meaningful difference for students is by participating on the school council. Under the School Act, a school council is a collective association designed to advise the principal and the CBE Board of Trustees on matters related to the school. School councils have legislated advisory and decision-making authority. They are different from Parent Societies & Associations, whose main function is to raise funds for the school. You can find more details in the CBE School Council Handbook.

School Council

The William Aberhart School Council is an advisory group that facilitates communication among all members of our School Community so that we may work together as partners. All parents (including guardians), teachers, students and other individuals in the community with a stake in our school are members of our School Council.

ABE School Council meetings:
Learning Commons 7:00 – 8:30 pm

Dear Aberhart Families,

One of the most significant ways parents and community members can make a meaningful difference in the lives of our students is through school councils.  Parents and community members are important partners in public education.  Through school councils, our partners make significant and meaningful contributions to the learning opportunities provided to William Aberhart students.  Working in collaboration with the principal and school community, William Aberhart School Council can help foster a supportive learning environment and create valuable opportunities for students to experience success in school and thrive in life, work and continued learning.

You are invited to join us for our first virtual school council meeting on Monday, October 26 at 7:00 p.m, with Microsoft Teams Meeting.

Please mark your calendar for subsequent meeting dates, as follows:

Mondays: Sept. 28, Oct. 26, Nov. 30, Jan. 25, Feb. 22, Mar. 22, April 26, May 31

We look forward to connecting and collaborating with you this year in support of student success!

The Friends of OrAnge Association (FOAA) is a formal group of parents, incorporated under the Societies Act for the purpose of raising funds for William Aberhart High School.  While meetings are held following school council on the last Monday of the month, FOAA is a separate legal entity from William Aberhart School Council.  School Council is scheduled from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and FOAA from 8:10 p.m. to 8:40 p.m. so folks may choose to attend one or both meetings.

We would love to see you at our first virtual FOAA meeting on October 26 with Microsoft Teams Meeting.
