Principal's Message

Yippee - summer is here!

June 28, 2021
Dear Pratt families,
Congratulations on making it through this year!  What a ride it has been for everyone but you need to know that students have been learning all year long!  Alongside content in each discipline, students (and sometimes parents) acquired the skills to:
work online,
manipulate data and assignments,
monitor their submissions,
make friends in person and online,
meet and engage with new teachers both in person and online,
check their PowerSchool, D2L,Bongo, google meets and shared documents,
give and receive feedback from peers and teachers,
review achievement assessment,
access their report cards
importance of hand hygiene
so on and so on.
The staff at WDPratt would like to thank all of our parent community for the support they have provided for their children and for our staff as we all worked together to achieve student success. Messages on our sidewalk and parking lot this morning is only one indicator of the support provided.  THANK YOU!!!

Departing staff members:
At this time, I am able to confirm that the following teachers will not be returning to Pratt for the 2021-22 school year.  We are sorry to lose their expertise and collegial contributions, however, we know they are moving to new opportunities to share their gifts at other schools.  They will be missed as colleagues and as part of the Pratt family - as always, it is farewell not goodbye.
Grade 4: Ms. Daya, Ms. Pinhal; Grade 5: Ms. Clarke, Mr. Freeman; Grade 6: Ms. Eagleson, Grade 7: Ms. Muller, Mr. Ndamukong; Grade 9: Ms. Pentelichuk;  PE: Ms. Smith.
September 2021: At this point in time, we await governmental direction for the start up of the school year.  However, Mr. Fettes and Mrs. Lemke have been busily entering Grades 7-9 students into chosen complementary classes for fall, with the assumption that we are going to be running a regular schedule.  However, we have another schedule prepared, if the need arises, for a plan similar to this year.  Supplies: Please see our school website for supply lists for Grades 7-9.
September organization for staff and classroom configuration/numbers, as of June 28, are outlined below:

Although we did not have tours for incoming students this year, Ms. Simmonds and staff members have been working hard to prepare students for next year.  There have been introductions, whether in person or online dependant upon whether students are currently in school or online.
While we will be closed for summer, the office will re-open for new registrations, transfer and general inquiries on August 24th at 9:00 am.
Wishing all of you a most excellent, safe and restorative summer!
Janice and the entire Pratt team!

All items in lost and found will be donated in a couple of days - please have your child check!
