Principal's Message

February Update

Report cards:  We would to once again thank you for your patience with viewing report cards, accessing assessment on PowerSchool, D2L and high school registration.
Viewing Grade 8 semester 1 assessment remains a challenge for parents/students and we continue working towards a satisfactory resolution.  Teachers are able to view the marks and we appreciate that parents would like to be able to see this assessment as well.
If your Grade 9 student lives in Royal Oak, Rocky Ridge or Glacier Ridge – they are automatically designated to Robert Thirsk High School.
If the address we have in PowerSchool is NOT within those residential areas, your child will be designated to the corresponding high school.  This process has already taken place.  If we have an incorrect address in PowerSchool, it is crucial for you to notify us right away.
If you plan to apply to transfer high schools, the online transfer form became available on February 1 and all requests must be submitted by March 15 to be considered.  Please look on the Pratt website under the story High School Transfer Requests 2023-24.
Staffing: When teachers are on leave, it is important to have quality replacement teachers to maintain the level of education for students. Providing quality instruction is crucial in ensuring students continue to make progress and meet educational standards. To that end, I want to share with you that Darren Desrochers is currently on leave meaning that students in both 64 and 65 are begin taught Math and Science by Ali Pedersen until the end of February.
Katheryn Goods is currently on leave meaning students in both 9-1 and 9-2 are being taught English Language Arts and Social Studies by Rae-Ann Riehl.  We are confident that both of our guest teachers will do a spectacular job of facilitating learning for students.
If you have questions or concerns, please direct inquiries to David Fettes or Janice Luchenski so we are able to resolve those for you.
