Assigned Teachers

Due to ongoing staffing, classroom teachers are not assigned until our return in August. Classroom assignments are provided on August 31 when students return to school.

School Supplies

Students supplies are provided by the school for children in grade 5 and 6. Families are to provide indoor shoes, backpacks, lunch, and snacks. You may also choose to send your child with a water bottle.

For Grades 7-9,

Note that school supplies are not provided for students in grades 7 through 9.  Please send the following supplies with your child on the first day of school:

1 pkg – wooden pencil crayons

6 blue ink pens

12 HB pencils

2 white erasers

2 pkgs dividers for binders

2 binders (2 inch)

1 pkg 200 sheets lined loose leaf paper

1 pkg graph paper (8.5 x 11)

Additional supplies may be needed for specific classes.  Teachers will provide these lists to their students at the beginning of the year with the course outlines.   If students run out or lose some of their supplies, they will need to replace them.    From time to time, students will be required to purchase additional supplies for projects assigned throughout the year

Lunch Supervision

Students who are within the walk zone and would like to go home for lunch are welcome to do so. Students staying at school will be supervised in the school and are requested to bring their lunch with them.

Grade 5 and 6 students who are participating in lunch room program must remain on school property in designated supervision areas.

Grade 7-9 students have an open campus.  This means that students in grade 7-9 may choose to remain on campus or leave school property for lunch.  Minimal supervision will be provided for grad 7-9 students who are remaining on school property.

Fees and Waivers

School fees will be charged to families starting in October. Online fee payment is the simplest and most convenient way to pay school fees. Parents can use their online account to pay fees or apply for a waiver at: www.cbe.ab.ca/mycbe.

You can find more information on the CBE school fees and waivers page.

Yellow School Bus Transportation

Yellow school bus routes for the 2023-24 school year are created over the summer and based on the addresses submitted before the pre-registration deadline in June. Transportation continues to accept registrations after the deadline; however, students are added to the closest existing stop with available space. Processing times could be up to six weeks at the beginning of the school year due to volume.

More information about 2023-24 transportation service levels and proposed fees are posted on the CBE website.

Your bus stop location and time will be available in your MyCBE account by mid-August.

Conditional riders can also register using MyCBE. Applications will be considered after eligible riders registrations have been processed. Should routes change or if qualified students are added to a route and the bus becomes overcrowded, conditional riders may be removed to accommodate these changes.

Learn more about transportation on the CBE website.
