Lunchtime

Lunchroom Supervision Program Registration

In order to eat lunch at school in our Lunch Supervision Program, all students must be registered. For more specific information as to cost and registration procedures, please see our Lunch Supervision page.

Registration and payment can be done through MyCBE / PowerSchool.

Woodbine School operates a four-day lunchroom program for all students from Grades 1 - 6.

Please remember to call our lunchroom line to report a child’s absence at 403-777-8630 extension 2.

Woodbine School operates a “Peanut-Aware” lunchroom. We discourage peanut products in the lunchroom but cannot guarantee a “peanut free” environment. Please let us know if your child has food allergies and requires support. For more information on how to deal with allergies, please see our Illness and Medical page.

Snacks and lunches should be easy for children to manage. Hot water and microwaves are not accessible for students.

During lunch recess, supervision is provided for students attending the lunch program. Students who go home for lunch should return prior to their entry bell time.

Recess Snacks

We encourage nutritious snacks that have as little packaging as possible. This will also help to keep our school community litter free. We recommend sending your child with a hearty snack on Fridays due to our dismissal time.

Fun Lunches

Our students love fun lunch days! To learn more about our approach to fun lunches at school, see the Healthy Hunger website.

For those families who are new to our school, Healthy Hunger is an online service that allows you to order lunches in an easy and efficient manner on line.

Fun lunches not only offer a break to the daily ritual of “having to make a lunch” but they are also an easy way for you to support us as it is a fundraiser for our school.

To register for lunches, simply log on to the website www.healthyhunger.ca and follow the simple instructions to register your child(ren). Once you have registered, you will be able to purchase fun lunches as they come up on the school calendar or place your orders all at one time.

You only have to create an account once with Healthy Hunger. That account will remain active each year. With the start of each new school year you will need to re-register your child(ren) by adding them back to your account and assigning them to their new grade and classroom.

The cut off to order is always 5 days before the fun lunch. For example, if the fun lunch is scheduled for September 15 – you will need to have your orders placed by September 10.

We will need volunteers on fun lunch days to help distribute the lunches to students – if you can spare some time please add your availability to volunteer when placing your order on line.

To register with Healthy Hunger – please go to: www.healthyhunger.ca

Healthy Hunger dates for 2020-21 to follow in the fall (if health restrictions allow)

Note that our fun lunches must be ordered online in advance. See our school calendar to see what's coming up, including details and order forms.

If you order a fun lunch and your child does not attend school that day - please arrange to collect your order. We do not have the facilities to safely store/refrigerate the food. Any uncollected orders will be disposed of that day.
