There are many ways you can contribute to our school’s success, and make a difference for our school and our students. Fundraising Events for 2019-20


Every two years Woodman school gets to volunteer at a casino. It is our biggest fundraiser bringing in approximately $65,000. This money is used to purchase a variety of in class equipment, artists in residence, & technology to help students be more successful. Please help us prioritize when it comes to spending of casino funds by filling out the survey.

Chapters Library Fundraiser Nov 7 6-9 PM

Come out and support Woodman Library and get some Christmas shopping crossed off your list. 20% of all sales between 6 & 9 pm on the Nov. 7 will be returned to the Woodman library allowing us to complete necessary updates to our shelves.

Purdy’s Chocolate November 12 – 24.

In time for hostess gifts and stocking stuffers. 25% of all sales return to the school to help support our arts program and community initiatives. Watch for the flyers and emails in November. Orders will be ready for pickup Dec 4.

Healthy Hunger

Allows families a day off of packing lunches and raises money for the school! Money raised from this fundraiser allows council to support the school to make sure all students have equal opportunity to participate in all activities. Any excess funds will go to help offset field trip costs. Watch for information on the website.

Cheque Writing Campaign

We understand that some families may have had enough with buying “stuff” but would still like to support the school. School Council will be holding a cheque writing campaign for the month of March. Donations over $20 will be eligible for a tax receipt. Monies raised will go towards our playground development and needed upgrades to our common spaces in and outside of the school.

From a donations perspective, ways to give to our school include:

  • Contributing cash: donations over $25 are tax deductible and cheques can be made out to the Calgary Board of Education

  • Providing in-kind donations: to donate school supplies and equipment, contact us directly

Parents wishing to cancel the registration of their child in hub need to make the decision prior to Sept. 1, 2020. Parents need to email their child's school indicating they are moving their child from hub to face-to-face instruction. #yycbe #WeAreCBE
